I’m only on page 32 and I’ve already learned tons. This book has an unpretentious, delightfully self-deprecating, loving, witty, positive vibe that makes it super easy to read. And my cat, Gilbert Grape, likes it ta’boot; so it’s officially my fave of 2018 and I’m certain many years to come as I need refreshers on how and why to give a shit (because, let’s face it, we can all become mental sloths every now and again). Piper, you’re a gem!
First, if you don't give a sh*t about the world and how you impact it, get off this planet.As someone who is a nascent environmentalist this book is seriously the only green Bible you'll need. There are some deep knowledge bombs and practical information nuggets to help shine a light into every and wasteful corner of your home/life (there are dust mites living in my bed?!).Plus, Ashlee sprinkles in hilarious personal anecdotes (selling your unmentionables to keep them from the landfill? YES PLEASE!) that turns what could be a droll topic into a scintillating page-turner. Seriously, I devoured this book on the train like it was a scandalous YA novel. Best part is, no need to hide this cover! You can be proud to Give A Sh*t!
Great advice without judgment. Easy, insightful tips for cutting waste, saving money, saving animals and the planet - all while living a fun, full life (no need to join a commune). Hilarious writing— yes, living better can be funny.
Wow. Reading this book with a glass of wine is like hanging out with your best friend and having all her love and acceptance wrapped around you and instilled into you that you matter and that you can make a difference. I ran a sustainable business for 5 years and know a lot about giving a shit, yet I was shocked to find simple changes that I could make that never occurred to me. I feel inspired, encouraged and know I am a better person for reading and underlining the shit out of this book.
I haven't been able to put this book down. I really love her writing style and the flow of the book. It's really inspiring me to want to do more and to live like I care (because I do). Such an approachable guide to living a less wasteful less. Love it.
