Gives a great, detailed overview of all areas of the state

Without question, the best NC Road Atlas and County Guide.A terrific, low-cost investment for anyone planning to visitor relocate to NC -- take it from an "out-of-towner".The only room for improvement would be a spiral binding.

Wouldn't get on the road without it.

Was just a reprinting of older versions. Major roadway in the City of Hickory ( McDonald Pkwy) still missing. It is a major roadway from Springs Rd south connecting to US Rt 70 and Interstate 40. Also crosses Tate Blvd where many Medical facilities are located.

I was excited to get this comprehensive atlas of NC (as a gift) after moving here in the fall. Unfortunately, this book was disappointing because of its very non-intuitive organization. Confusing indexing/grid system/ etc. Very hard to find a county/town/park etc. even when you know what you are looking for. I'd recommend going with a NC Rand McNally map from a gas station. The one redeeming point is that if you can find the section you're looking for the book provides very detailed info..

I used this map book this past weekend when I rode my motorcycle from Tidewater Virginia to Gatlinburg, Tenneessee and back. The book might have been printed in 2009 but it was still a great resource. I like these American Map books because they show routes clearly as well as points of interest. I bought a few copies of this book when it was first released. I gave both my husband and my step-daughter copies because they help me run our flea market business. I have read my copy of the book several times and often find myself browsing through the table of contents when I am brainstorming different marketing strategies to apply to my business. One of my favorite parts of the book is Part 15 titled "Spoiled Prospects and Customers Are Loyal". In that section, there are 7 short chapters that help me remember that my customers drive my business and that I need to reward my best customers.Every chapter of the book is short and to the point. Most chapters offer you an actionable marketing tip or a new way to view your business. The only down side to that is that you may find yourself reading more than one chapter at a time and trying to decide which tip or idea to take action on first.I consider this book to be my small business marketing toolbox. I can use the ideas ("tools") in this book to build and/or fix my business just like I would use the tools in my home toolbox to fix/repair things in my house. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who owns a small offline business and would like to learn how to creatively market and grow that business.

I have been an ardent 'apprentice' of Jim Cockrum for several years now, so I had already learned about 1/3 of the strategies mentioned in the book. Before I struck out on my own, I attempted implementing these strategies at my previous employers' companies, trying to grow their businesses. More often than not, I got FIRED because of it! Why? It's simple, and it falls right in line with the book's content. The 'old guard' in marketing is dead and 6-feet under. While 99% of marketing executives (like my previous employers) spend millions of dollars on lame-brain marketing tactics that sound sexy but just don't work (again, again and again), entrepreneurs like Jim and I (and thousands of others who have followed his advice) are building 6-digit revenue streams - real, wholesome businesses, mind you - using proven no- or low-cost tactics, and then 'rinsing and repeating', and reaping the rewards. Thank you Jim - the Eddie Van Halen of Marketing (innovative, fearless, and always emulated but never imitated).

Jim Cockrum is the real deal and this book is chock full of good tips and info. I'm only halfway through the book and already feel like I'm swimming in actionable stuff. You may not feel like you get the nitty gritty on how to implement all the ideas... but here's a tip: if you like one of the ideas in the book, just go to youtube and or google the idea, and you'll find plenty of people showing you the nitty gritty. This is the book to point you in the right direction.

jim cockrum is a marketing genius! I actually read this book once already BEFORE i bought it- i borrowed it from a good friend, and couldnt put it down, once I started reading it! It has SO many resources and ideas, that I couldnt take enough notes, there are just too many.i recommend reading it straight thru at first, and then come back to it as a note-taker. i give it all high marks, it is a true winner.If you are intending to launch a career online in any way, this is an ESSENTIAL tool to have, without a doubt.

I have followed Jim Cockrum for a while, and been a student of his coaching program. I will tell you that his ideas and guidance have literally changed my life at a time that I urgently needed a change due to unfortunate circumstances. He definitely knows his stuff, and is one of the few people I trust when it comes to ideas and guidance for my business. I can tell you his coaching program alone has been life changing and done magic for my business. I bought this book not really knowing what to expect, as I have read a lot of things Jim has written, but what a surprise to find new and useful ideas and information that I haven't heard nor read anywhere else. I am simply amazed and I have learned so much. I love the way the book is set up - you can read little bits and pieces as time allows and still get a thorough lesson each time you go to the book. The ideas in this book are outstanding, and Jim has once again impressed me. I have learned quite a bit from Jim by being a student of his coaching program, which is outstanding by the way. This book has ramped up my knowledge quite a bit more, as well as it motivates me to implement new ideas into my business. No matter what kind of business you have, or even if you don't have a business but are thinking about it in the future, this book is an absolute goldmine of great ideas. I am so glad I purchased this book, and I have already referred back to it quite a few times to help me take my business to the next level. I know I will be referring back to this book many times in the future, because I have already seen good outcomes from just a couple of ideas that are presented in the book. I cannot give enough praises for this book, as it's chock full of awesome ideas that are easy to understand. I also find that when I'm unmotivated, just a quick 10 minute read of this book from any chapter will motivate me and get me doing things to better my business. I have to say, buy this book. If you don't buy it, your competition most likely will, and they are going to have the edge over you. This book is full of innovative and great ideas that are up to date and relevant to the business world today, and it's priced at a great price point. I personally would have paid quite a bit more for this book because I have done diligent research and I can tell you the best person to take advice from about your business is Jim Cockrum. He is the real deal and can help totally transform your business and your life with his ideas. I truly believe that Jim Cockrum is one of the few marketers that truly cares about his customers and students, but more importantly this guy knows his stuff and keeps up with trends. You simply can't go wrong with anything Jim puts out or endorses, and this book is no exception. Buy it, buy it, buy it! I cannot praise this book enough, and I look forward to future book releases from Jim. I have the Kindle version, but I am going to buy the actual book because I know I'm going to be re-reading and re-reading this for years to come and want a physical copy. This book is destined to become legendary very soon, and I believe every business owner needs to have a copy of this book on their shelf and in front of their eyes. Great job, outstanding book and very well written!

I've used the pop up maps while in Paris and London so i was excited to see they had one for chicago. I haven't gotten to use it yet so I can't comment on the accuracy of the maps yet but the design is always so great. The way they have it pop up and fold down to fit perfectly in your pocket or purse is perfect. Can't wait to use it in the future trips to Chi-town.

My daughter recently relocated to Chicago. This map has been a major help for her to find her way around the city.

I bought one of these while in Chicago, and they are great. Easily fits in your pocket, but folds out to show all the major attractions. Makes it very easy to see just how many blocks away you are from where ever your headed. Once I found myself on the map, I was able to get to the closest subway entrance, park, etc. I didn't have much free time on my business trip, so this made my short sightseeing time very easy to navigate.Whenever I travel to a large city that I am going to be walking around in, I try to find out if one of these maps is made for the city.

My first experience with golden age radio shows was listening to a 1970s sampler album. This is much better. With the sample shows via enclosed CD or download, and with just the right amount of detail and teaser-like descriptions provided for each show, it’s a great introductory survey of golden age radio. I love the “Did You Know” feature!The book is written by two authors who are truly subject matter experts for this topic. The book's layout is nicely done with attractive artwork, great photos, and a convenient table of contents. Even casually browsing the pages makes me want to pull up a sample of one of the shows and enjoy an episode!It is the perfect book for someone who is new to the genre, or as a handy reference for the hobbyist interested in discovering shows they may have not yet encountered.

So NOT what I thought it was. It sounded like this was a book full of stories and information about the old radio shows. It's not. It has just very basic info for each show. Almost just like advertising/promo blurbs. I purchased this for my father and was really disappointed when we got it.

I am disgusted and dismayed that the authors omitted Gene Autry's Melody Ranch program on CBS Radio. Autry's Melody Ranch program always beat Roy Rogers Show in the ratings and was much more popular on radio than Rogers. How could they omit Gene Autry? Blasphemy!!!The authors proudly proclaim that Rogers has three stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, wow, but Gene Autry is the ONLY star who has FIVE stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.I hope to return the book or sell it. Do not like it.

Mr. Amari and Mr. Grams, Jr. have put together a great book that is very easy to read and has tremendous history and is very vibrant with the amount of pictures it has. I learned many things in this book even though I have been a fan of Classic Radio since I was seven years old. Along with John Dunning's Encyclopedia, this is the definitive book on Classic Radio!

If I had a coffee table, this book would be on it permanently. Instead, it is on my bookshelf, prominently displayed and within easy reach for my enjoyment at any time. Great collection of old time radio show information featuring most of the most popular shows of the time. Brings me back to my childhood, when I had my ear to the radio and not my eyes to the TV. Great book for old radio fans!

The book itself is entertaining, but you have to go to a website to download the episodes in the book. I did not see a means to download them as a block of files. It will be tedious to sit and download them individually.

Our friends love old radio shows, so this was the perfect gift for them. They have enjoyed the photos and articles.

This is among the top three most useful books I have read on writing, maybe the most useful. Years into writing a novel that kept branching further and further out out of my control, it occurred to me to rewrite it as a screenplay outline. Having to imagine all scenes as visual and contributing to a particular conclusion helped me to greatly pare material away and reign in one pre-dominant theme as a through-line.

I've read many books and taken many college and university courses on screenwriting. I found this guide on the craft and business of screenwriting quite refreshing, demystifying and useful. Professor Walter is co-chair of the UCLA Film & Television Writing Program. He knows his s*** and his graduate program has probably turned out more working screenwriters than any other university in the US, if not the world. I took a class with him over the summer this year and I loved it. If you're serious about screenwriting, buy this book and Lew Hunter's Screenwriting 434, who taught the same graduate screenwriting program for a few decades and try to get into one of Walter's classes, try a summer session, like I did. Hunter is retired, but Walter is still turning out professional writers every year.

Richard Walter, the brother of Jessica Walter of Arrested Development is a brilliant professor of the craft called screenwriting. He is funny, interesting and will give you very definite methods to get yourself started. He also has a 4 DVD workshop he sells at the Screenwriters Store, online. It is 60 dollars and worth every cent. I've also gotten a lot from his lectures and interviews given on Youtube. His books are all superior to most on screenwriting. He's been the head of the dept. in UCLA Screenwriting Program for decades. You can trust anything he says.

I enjoyed the read so much I bought a second copy for a friend. Mr. Walter also has some great youtube videos.I find by watching the videos, and then reading the book you get a feel for the authors mannerisms it gave me a more personalized read, made me feel like the guy was talking to me directly. I got a few good laughs out of his delivery. Useful material I have read about a dozen books on screenwriting and attended a few classes on the subject. I am done reading now and am applying what I have read to my own screenplay on my Hawaiian Missionaries book, we will see if this effort helps me create an enjoyable adaptation, if nothing else I enjoyed the quest. Thanks for sharing.

He probably could have figured it out on his own or Googled it but he did say he found some things in this book that he never would have thought to check so for $12 it was totally worth it!

A pleasure to read! I am no more than a good computer user but have been wanting to build a computer for awhile. Thanks to this well-written step-by-step approach I have confidence that I can give the build a try. I especially liked the beginning overview and probably even more, I really liked the explanation of boot orders and all the many variations one could run into. The explanation of the creation of a USB boot disk was remarkably clear. Very nice job and I’ll check back in after I get something built!

Actually building the PC via illustrations is what I love most about this book. Installing software has always been my weakness and I still don't have a full understanding about it but I will follow these instructions step by step!

I used this book to assist me through my first computer build, and I think the author does a good job of laying out the basics and offering some helpful tips along the way. I did already have a basic understanding, but I really liked the straightforward, organized manner the author uses to walk you through the process.
