Growing up in a small town in rural Washington State, Jeff Stookey enjoyed writing stories. He studied literature, history, and cinema at Occidental College, and then got a BFA in Theater from Fort Wright College. In his 40s he retrained in the medical field and worked for many years with pathologists, trauma surgeons, and emergency room reports. I really enjoy Jeff’s writing, his first person POV is tops, bar none. The reading is so smooth, you are transported to the time and place in the book without any effort on your part.Lovely scene-setting, accompanied by lively action and dynamic dialogue, will leave you wanting more at the end of the book and series.The finale of “Medicine for the Blues†series, “Dangerous Medicine†gets the top score of 5 stars!
What a huge accomplishment this is. Finished the trilogy this morning. Enjoyed the characters and the meticulously researched evocation of those times. Wish they were really in the past. The epilogue was very welcome and the author's notes showed the historian and journalist in the author. Excellent work. Thank you.
