Wow, what a great book! I am a technical professional enrolled in a graduate business degree program, and until now the plethora of financial and accounting terminology and rules has been bewildering for me. That is no longer true after buying this book. I have primarily used it as a reference book, and without fail any explanation I have needed has been easy to find, clear and concise.I am no longer in the financially confused majority, largely thanks to this book. The author's education is in biochemistry (as is my undergraduate education), and because he originally came from the hard sciences where clarity and accuracy are valued above all else he was better able to be clear and easy to understand in comparison to many business school authors who seem to thrive on jargon and platitudes.This is a great book to have on the reference shelf. If you are involved with business finance or investment analysis it is simply the best book available on the subject and should be considered indispensable!

I enjoyed reading this book (as much as one could enjoy a book on numbers that is!). I wanted to brush up on my accounting so I could better read financial statements for public companies I invest in. I took accounting a long time ago in college so knew the basics but even that was a little rough around the edges for me.This book lays out clearly the 3 main financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow) and provides a sample company so you can follow along how each works and is related to the others. It is well written and the examples nicely formatted so you can follow along.I would recommend this book to anyone that knows nothing about financial statements or somebody like me who just needs to brush up again on the basics and a bit beyond them too.

This is a really good book for review. I am going back into a business degree and Its been several years since I have had accounting. This is the first time I have ever commented on a product sold on Amazon. First, the book arrived ahead of time. Secondly, I would highly recommend this book to anyone who does not know anything about accounting. I am considering starting a business and have been educating myself on various topics. Although, I have a science/math background, I have never taken an accounting course. This book is very easy to read and understand. It breaks down common accounting terminology for you. After reading this book, I feel confident in knowing how business transactions affect financial statements. It is an interesting read as you learn about the develop of an applesauce company. If you want to develop a general knowledge base of accounting, then this is the book for you. If you are looking for a technical book that will expand your current accounting knowledge, then it might be a waste of money.

This book is seriously so good. I've been in the accounting world for 10 years, I have my Accounting degree, and I am a Controller for a small regional company. I'm 13 pages into this book and I've thought several times already that this should be required reading in any entry-level accounting class in college. The basic instruction book for Scientology Volunteer Ministers. It seems like I have written a review of this book before. I mentioned it comes also as 19-20 individual booklets at $5 each. It is easier to handle as booklets, as the hardback is quite large and heavy. Scientology Ministers use them as handouts when dealing with particular issues. Most Scientology materials seem to be written on an eight grade reading level. Those written by Hubbard are extremely wordy. It is an interesting book explaining many Scientology processes and assists.

I really enjoyed the insights of his upbringing and how his previous experiences with mountain climbing & curiosity of all things geological aided in his ability to navigate to Tibet given all the travails he encountered. There is also a very interesting interplay of the background of World War II and various events that occurred behind the scenes. I found it quite an enjoyable read and a slice of history that I was much unaware of. As well it provided some interesting insights of his evolution in spirit and thought.

Life changing. My mom went to teen challenge 6 years ago. I started reading this book after a prompt from the Holy Spirit. ❤️ I didn’t realize at the time David was the one who founded teen challenge. When it got to that part I wept. Realizing because this man listened to the lord my mother’s life was spared. No coincidence that I “randomly” clicked on this and audiobooks and bought it

What an amazing book. I am familiar with Teen Challenge but not its history nor David Wilkerson. This book is a fascinating read. I really felt David Wilkerson did a great job of conveying the feel of 1950's inner city New York. The grime, the gangs, the drugs, all come together under the watchful Holy Spirit of God to bring hope to these amazing people who started this great organization. This book should be read by anyone, not just those who are of Faith. I couldn't put it down!

This book is one of my favorites. When I was fifteen (many moons ago) our youth pastor gave this book to us to read. I couldn't put it down. I let my friends borrow it. When I was older I gave it to my fiancé when he went in to basic training to read and he passed it around and then the book got lost but I hope it ended up in someone hands that needed it. Then I read it again and the book is still good as ever.

After reading an abridged version of The Cross and the Switchblade, I was eager to hear how this movement had continued. I got my answers and also the answers to some of the threads left hanging in the first book. It's basically chronicling that unfolded with the Teen Challenge movement and how Wilkerson's life went on. For me it was not so riveting as the earlier days but I came away with appreciation for the humanness of the author in all his struggles and attempts to follow the leading of his God.

First used book I've ordered for myself. Have ordered multiple used books through Amazon, for my husband. His books have always came in good condition. I read this book, back in 1974, and it changed my life. Was excited to see I could order a "used" version, to reread. Surprisingly, this IS the 1974 version (thought by the picture that it was a more current publication). While the story is still good, the condition of the book was not as I expected. Brittle, yellowed pages, that crumble as I read. The last few pages keep falling out, and I have to shove them back in to finish the book. There actually was a little "mini" calendar of 1974 stuck in the book, when I received it. It surprised me, and I felt a sense of "deja vu" when I first opened it, but the quality of the pages really aren't what I was expecting.

This book helped change my life. It has touched my life more than anyone can imagine. David spoke about a personal relationship and love with God and the Holy Spirit that left me wanting to feel that same love. I searched for it and found it and my life and beliefs are so different. I only wish this book would be read by every young person, rather than some fictional book like Harry Potter. It would possibly help keep so many young people from getting involved with drugs, prostitution and witchcraft. As a parent of two children, they saw the love and joy this brought to me and they have both read it and also wanted to seek out what it has to offer. What a blessing The Cross and the Switchblade had brought to our lives.

The Cross and the Switchblade by David Wilkerson was a inspiring true story from the 60's that kept me engaged and wanting to read more. David Wilkerson, a Christian and small town preacher from Pennsylvania, felt a strong urge from God to go and help the boys and gangs in New York City. David Wilkerson started living out his faith boldly by traveling to New York City to walk around the streets and preach and evangelize to the gangs. After being in New York and making relationships, David Wilkerson sensed God telling him to move there full-time. Eventually, Wilkerson moved his whole family there and through a series of miracles ended up buying a huge house, later know as Teen Challenge, for the street teens to live in and go through drug rehab. Wilkerson helped a lot of people become Christians and get rid of drug and sex addictions.I (and I am a teenager) would recommend this book to any Christian or person who is young in his/her faith and wondering how God works through people. This was a really good book and a fairly easy read. I give this book 5 stars.

Purchased this for someone who is incarcerated thinking maybe it would hit home. I heard Nikki Cruz speak at The Brooklyn Tabernacle and like I said prayed that the person I bought it for might find "something" in it.I will never know as we are responsible for the input not the outcome, only time will tell. Not for everyone but definitely for the person I bought it for. The story of David Wilkerson was made into a movie way back in the 1960's I think played by Pat Boone. Wow how times have changed, one of the best selling books of 1959 was Twixt 12 and 20 by Pat Boone (who was Pat Boone lol), imagine that selling today? David Wilkerson walked where most men would not dare to walk into the streets of hell but saved a lot of souls. Truly a man of God if this type of book is for you.

After the snow storms delayed the delivery of my book, I've now got it. I'm only on page 90, but I thought I'd give you my opinion so far. Bare in mind that I have never read any of Buhners other books but I have poured over his website.First off, if you really want to see how much you don't know about Lyme co infections, read this book. I never took Organic Chemistry or Microbiology in college but my daughter did. She said (after reading 2 random pages) that it was beyond her education level (or maybe interest). That being said, I gloss over many words that are not, nor ever will be in my vocabulary.I'm learning a lot about Lyme's co infections and why/how they invade our cells. Is that important to get well? Maybe. If you like to visualize the treatment you're using, fighting off these little critters, this book will give you a real personal look at the cellular level to help with that visualisation exercise.On page 89 Buhner mentions some of the herbs to help with Babesia. Problem is, the names are all the Latin ones and not the common ones. Now I have to stop and look them all up. I can see this book is going to take some time to get through.I'm sorry to say that there are very few LLMD's in TN and my GP says that there is no Lyme in our area (yes, I need a new dr.). I've been bit by at least 25 ticks in the past 12 years (I live in a heavily wooded area). I have been severely debilitated for the past 4 years and DX with Fibromyalgia. I say BS to that and 3 months ago started treating myself for Lyme and Babesia.This book is just one of the tools that I need to be my own doctor. I'm looking forward to learning all I can and getting my health and life back.UPDATE: I am now to the good stuff. I love the in depth details about the herbal plants. And yes, the common names are sited. This book will definitely be turned to many times.

Good to know there are still good people out there today who want to share knowledge and help others, not just those interested in only power and money.Good sources for the herbs and supplements can be hard to find for someone like me, who is new to the field of herbal healing, and again, Stephen Buhner helps out with several great references without self-interest. I have dealt with several of the sources listed in his books by now. They have all been very helpful people, even when I asked tough questions about their quality control and the names of the independent labs they use for testing, etc. I am very satisfied with the products, the way they work for me so far, and the advice I got in Stephen Buhner’s books for less than the price of a pizza. It is likely that this knowledge is the key to my complete recovery, as it is helping me significantly already to re-gain my ability to sleep at night and to recover from physical exertion without chills and fevers. It seems like the addition of the plant medicines helped my body to address infections that may have evaded the antibiotics and to finally be able to repair itself again.Thank you Stephen Buhner for making this awesome and powerful knowledge available to everyone!

Stephen Buhner is my hero, and his books are helping me get well from Lyme disease and its co-infections. This book is fantastic and contains in-depth and accurate information on the three infections, what they are and how they infect the body, a brief look at pharmaceutical treatment, and of course his natural healing protocols. Yes, some of it is very technical. If your eyes glaze over, just skip over to the next part. :)I started with a basic, stripped-down version of his Babesia protocol, and it did not take long to realize it was working. I would HIGHLY recommend Buhner's books if you or somebody you love has Lyme disease and/or any of its co-infections.UPDATE ONE YEAR LATER: I never did have any return of my Babesia symptoms. All I used for it was Buhner's recommended herbs. (Same thing with my other co-infections!) They tasted horrible but sure worked fantastic.

I really dislike some of the images, such as “I love Jesus but I cuss a little” I find that offensive.

gave this to my mom as a mother's day gift and she was really happy with it. has bible verses on the left page and a more modern saying related to the bible verse on the right side page for coloring

This coloring book is nice enough. Phrases are not all Christian: such as Jesus is my jam & I love Jesusvbut I cuss a little. If I had purchased as a gift I’d have been extremely disappointed. It is just for me, so I won’t return it. Better description could have saved me a purchase. Also a 4 inch cut down the back cover.

Love love love this book. In most religious coloring books, it's all about the scriptures and the coloring pages are lacking . This has good coloring and scriptures.

Love some of the sayings but some of them are offensive. Plus one of the words is spelled wrong. One the page I can do all things it says thungs not things

Disappointing. Pages with "slang words" ruin the whole content. It might appeal to younger people.

They did a good job making this. Backs of pages printed black so colors don't bleed to other side. Funny sayings, and applicable quotes modernized.
