Has enough detail for most general dentists when you need a reference, and more than enough for the dental student. There is also some discussion of advanced technique in the text that is shown with a colored background, however there does not seem to be much discussion on advanced cases (4 stars). Chapters discuss all aspects of most partial denture cases including some maxillofacial prosthetics. I like to learn a lot by looking at pictures. One huge plus this book has is more than 90% full color (5 stars) pictures (more than 900). However I wish the pictures showed how to do procedures in a step by step format. The pictures for the most part just show what things are supposed to look like in the end of a procedure (3 stars). Avg stars: 4

Great book for studying the Bible and a wonderful text book. I disagree with the thought that the Holy Spirit cannot help you interpret scripture, that is found in this book. It says without everything and the way you do their methods of study, then you cannot interpret the Bible correctly. If the Holy Spirit helped them write it, can’t he help us read it?

There is a lot of good stuff here, but my primary gripe is that they deny an important hermeneutical distinction made by Luther, Calvin, and every Reformation Christian that followed in their wake for hundreds of years. What they deny is the proper distinction between Law and Gospel. They also deny that the Law can be divided into ceremonial, civil, and moral categories. This distinction was also held to by all of the Reformers. By denying these crucial distinctions, they are redifining how Protestant Christians read their Bible. The inevitable result will be substantive departures from historic, Reformation Christianity. I think that's dangerous. Where are they, and those following them, going to end up? They're essentially rethinking the Christian faith.The authors are writing from a premillinial-dispensationalist-baptist perspective, so they encourage readers to take the apocalyptic literature of Revelation literally, as much as is absolutely possible. That's interesting, when the authors take all references to baptism and the Lord's supper in the scriptures to be figurative, even when the context is historical narrative (i.e. this is my body, baptism now saves you, etc.).As a general rule, it is a good historical, literary approach to understanding the scriptures. If you are a more traditional Reformed Baptist who holds to Covenental Theology, or if you are more Classically Reformed or Lutheran, then there will be much that you find in this book that is at direct odds with your tradition and your confessional standards. If you are a "New Calvinist" baptist, and a premillenial-dispensationalist, then you'll probably be in essential agreement with the authors, as that is the perspective they are writing from.

The book itself is excellent. If you are purchasing the kindle version in order to listen to the text-to-speech option, be warned that it can be hard to follow. In my opinion, the pausing is messed up. It pauses longer at commas than periods, which is the opposite of how it should be. This makes comprehending the text difficult. Also, reading out the long lists of references is tedious and the reading of the Bible abbreviations can be confusing.

Had to get this for a class and I'm so glad I got it. It has really helped me to be able to read and understand the Bible. I've been in church since I was 3 years old and grew up in it. But was always intimidated to read and study the word of God because I felt I couldn't fully understand it. Now I'm loving studying the Bible any chance I get. I brag about this book all the time to my friends. A must read. It's also helped with the Bible studies we give. Great material and written perfectly for anyone to understand.

I cannot say enough good things about this book. This was one of the required textbooks for a seminary and I found it to be very engaging to read. The book is written so well and really gives the reader some practical strategies in how to read the Bible and how to accurately interpret what you read. It is a great resource for anyone waning to dig deeper and get the most out of your Bible study, This is a book that I will indeed hang onto and use as a resource in the future.

If you have an interest in learning more about God's Word, I believe you'd find tis book helpful. It is broken into concise chapters that aid in understanding how to get the most out of relating the Word as it was written in Biblical times to today's world, using a 5 step process that makes sense. Using this book will help you get more from the Bible, and if you apply what you learn, help to build a closer relationship with Him.

This book was required reading in seminary. I loved this book! I learned what it's means that exegesis is an act of love. I also learned how to apply the Biblical teaching that Scripture never contradicts itself. Don't look at verses outside of context, and don't assume that one verse confirms your understanding. Look at various verses, consider the historical circumstances, and the literary type. When I completed my class at seminary, I sold the book but later regretted not having it and bought another copy to use in my personal Bible study.

Awesome workbook to an awesome book. This isn't really necessary, but it's very helpful for a classroom/discipling environment. The book is great at teaching how to study the bible and equips the students to learn by practicing. The workbook contains all the same exercises as the book, but it's just more convenient than to print out materials or xerox a bunch of pages.

This book is great, as every Lonely Planet Book. Great information, detail, tips, tricks, all you need to know. The only reason why I don't give 5 stars it's because the cover came a little bit wrinkled. The book had no protection at all (usually when I buy books they come with a plastic wrap or something to protect it). This one came with nothing so it arrived with some noticeable wrinkles and scratches back and front.

Since I believe that every literate person ought to be familiar with the Bible and the Koran, I struggled for decades to finish the Penguin Classics edition translated by N.J.Dawood. After several decades of false starts, I finally completed it; however, I had to agree with Thomas Carlyle who wrote the following in Heroes & Hero Worship: "I must say it is as toilsome reading as ever I undertook. A wearisome, confused jumble, crude, incondite, endless iterations, long windedness, entanglement...unsupportable stupidity in short. Nothing but a sense of duty could carry any European through the Koran." The Dawood edition re-arranged the 114 chapters from the original order. It does have a chronological table of the basic events in Mohammed's life. It does not have numbered verse lines which makes it difficult if not impossible to check on citations, such as Koran 24:2. Therefore, I was in search of another edition which permitted quick verification by chapter and line. Since I do not read Arabic, it made no sense to get a dual language edition. I scouted about to learn what was generally deemed a good English translation - A.J. Arberry was often cited. So, I looked at a copy to satisfy myself that checking on references would be easy to accomplish. That's what I wanted, so I bought a soft backed edition. This edition has volume I, suras 1-20, and volume II, suras 21-114, bound together with prefaces for each volume. Arberry's affection for the work as well as his expressed desire to match the English to the poetry of the Arabic makes the Koran more understandable. Perhaps even Carlyle might modify his opinion. Or, he might not.

I have just started reading "The Koran Interpreted" a translation by A. J. Arberry, first published in 1955. Unlike other English translations I read, this translator joined together individual verses into groups (paragraphs?) in order to enable readers to discern "how the discourse originally ran". The inclusion of idiomatic expressions made me feel much closer to and more appreciative of the early believers.

It is a somewhat difficult read and does not give a whole lot of insight into the Muslim religion as it appears to be practiced today. As I understand it, the Koran, as it is written in the origional Arabic, is very poetic, and Arberry did his best to convey this in his translation. It is worth reading if just to gain a little insight into the beliefs of Muslims as compaired to Christians and Jews. I was quite suprised at the frequent references to Jesus, Mary, Moses, Abraham and numerous other individuals found in the Old Testament.

Unlike some of the other recent hardback re-releases or special editions DC has offered, this one gives cool bonus features (like the History of the DC Universe) and is readable. By that I mean the inking was done so dark you lose a lot of the line work (especially true in The Golden Age), and when you are reading a story drawn by George Perez, you want to see that detail. I have the Absolute and original Hardback (it came in a slip case) but this one is perfect. Size-Wise it is in between the two, and it is lighter, so you can read it standing up or sitting on the throne if you please. (Sorry wan't meaning to be gross just funny.) Seriously though, worth it, especially if all you have is the paperback version of this fine graphic novel.

Its a classic. The art is great. Perez makes absolutely fantastic vignettes. The story is also very good. A lot of Classic iconic moments. The way of telling the story could be slow for a new comic reader and the story itself involves lots lf dc characters. For new readers i suggest that you have to do a lot of research before this.

Got it the same day with a 35.00 purchase....awesome service ...Great book, reliving the memories from when i had the whole comic book series back in 1985 from a comic book store....but this book has tons of extras including penciled art.... its a big book,....if your a fan of the series and George Perez, a must have in your library

So downloading the entire book was a special treat now I have it with me were ever I go. So thk u for a fabulous book also the price was perfect!

This large, hard bound, Anniversary Edition of Crisis is a must own for fans of DC. The book is high quality all the way, I only wish I had bought two so that I had one to read and one keep as a display. The story is legendary so there is no need to comment on that part. This size of this edition makes it a great coffee table or display piece that is sure to start conversations with any comic fan who knows their history.

Best release of this story ever. Full review later, but this is the standard by which all mega-even crossovers should be judged and this 30th anniversary release is a great testament to that.

Great book and well priced

I chose a whopping 5 star rating for this book because I feel like this could help out so many other teens like me that are going through problems, but not only teens, this book could help anyone, really. I recommended this book to so of my adult friends (mom and dad friends) and they really seemed to like it, and I could really tell they are using what they learned in this book because they just seem more... well, happy! They seem to have a better grip on life and emotions. I truly recommend this book to anyone. Eighty years old but still having trouble in life? It's never too late to pick up this book! Maybe you are ten and wish you could escape from the real world but also get your life ready for whatever may happen? I can almost guarantee that this book is that you are looking for! As for some people that don't like to read but want a better life.. like the eighty and ten year olds, I suggest you read this book. Or since this is the 21st century, have a bot or something read this to you. As for the author of this book... thank you. Thank you for helping my grasp on life, my sight to beauty, my entire mindset, and my interactions to people of all types. Though the chance you read my comment is most likely one to many, I still thank you. And thank you to everyone who helped write and or make this book, your efforts will not be forgotten.

This is actually a funny story... I ordered this book because for some crazy reason the hardback was at a lower price than the paperback. So I was like, "SCORE!" then when the book arrived and it was only two inches tall, *facepalm* however, my teenager loved it! And still, gives me crap out not properly reading the description before purchasing the item!

This book was referred to me by the Asperger Experts. My son has aspergers. He is highly intelligent and a sweet soul, but I needed something to help him to understand what makes a person effective/successful in life. As he matures and as he heads off to high school very soon, this book will be so very helpful to him. I feel it is a wonderful resource for parents and teachers to share with all teens. The world is big and coming at them so fast. Lets equip them in every way that we can. There is a workbook that you can purchase also. My son will be working through this (this year) as he starts the 8th grade. Thank you Sean Covey!

The general ideas and concepts are only a positive addition to you or your teens life. We started reading this to our kids at 8 and 9 years old and having a general discussion on habits and behaviors discussed in the book. I share this book with whomever as a great starting point for teens trying to develop an active action plan based on what they want and are interested in, as well as assisting them in reflecting on what it is that they want and what do their current behaviors show that they really want. Great starting point. If your teen is not a reader or a little hesitant, get creative. Read a chapter a night or every few days as a family and discuss it. Be consistent with it, they will open up if you remain quiet and allow them to really think for themselves and freely share their thoughts with you as they try to figure out the life that they want to live for themselves.

My 15 year old daughter asked for this book for her birthday after studying it in one of her classes at school. I love giving a book at birthday and holiday and this one was worth every penny. She loves this book and reads it often. This is a must give book to your child of they have a personality that loves organization, leadership, social situations, business, and communication. She often references something she has read in the book with is. I very pleased.

Bought for my 14yo daughter but, my 12 year old son can't wait until he gets to read it too. Author speaks directly to teens and my son was hooked after I read him just a sample. Both kids aren't done reading the book yet so i can't say how effective it is but the fact that they both want to read it says alot about how well the author does in connecting with the younger generation.

My children (13 year old twins) have really enjoyed this book. Sean does a great job of making the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People relevant to teenagers. The books is not a marginally revised version of the original; it is a complete rewrite with entirely different examples and many different quotes.

Bought this for my HS students as an alternative read. They love it! I think I will buy a classroom set and use it as a part of my curriculum next year!

Garbo comes to mind, but there have been many others.Of course, we can't look twenty forever, and we have to accept that life and our looks are changing. We've lived, and it's life affirming to honor our lives by looking into that mirror and saying warmly, "Hello, old friend." Then promise to pay tribute to that friend by doing a little something that will make it more pleasurable to look again tomorrow.Growing Old GracefullyThe very word grace means there is something inside of you that will never age, can never grow old. So many women I meet confide, "I know I'm getting old. I see the lines and the sagging. But I don't feel that way. I want to match that feeling inside." In this era, we can make things come together. We have many options.Some results will come from a bottle, but most will not. Some will take concerted effort, but more important will be a change in attitude. You have the answers to your beauty/fashion dilemas right at your fingertips, and you can look up whatever you need to know (or have forgotten). It's good. I love do it yourself beauty tips. My only complaint is that there seems to be a lot of duplication of tips from her other books. But still enjoy this one very much.

I LOVE this book and the CD it came with. The suggestions and the easy reading made it a time saving purchase. As the big 50 gets closer - it was helpful when I needed ideas to help keep me feeling and looking younger.

While there are a few good tips, I found the book lacking in enough detail to actually use (especially in the makeup section). Some of the tips on natural solutions for menopause were actually counter to scientific evidence. Complete waste of my money. I find myself at a loss for what to do with the book - I don't want to pass it along to anyone else . . .

Readers will find lots of simple things they can to to improve their beauty inside and out. Hair, skin, figure, fashion--even tips from movie stars---it's all there! You can go directly to the section that you need, without having to read the book in order. This book is really a treasure, to keep and go back to again and again.

First, I am a big fan of all of Diane Irons' books, and her latest, Age Defying Beauty Secrets is another winner. All aspects of age defying are covered.
