I didn't love the textbook (see textbook reviews) that went with this study guide, BUT the study guide was very helpful for me as a university student. As I said in the textbook review, every section wasn't written very well and kind of bounced all over the place as opposed to getting straight to the point and flowing. Several times, I had to go back and read the section to make sure I understood exactly what it wanted me to know and had to figure out what was just "noise" on my own. However, the study guide was very well done and utilized several techniques (i.e. matching, categorizing, completing sentences, case studies, optional "essays" <- as much as you want to write, labeling pictures, etc.) in order to better remember and understand the information. I really liked it and was able to obtain an "A" in the course.

I used this for a masters class in nursing. It was paired with the textbook and really helped me put it all together and organize the concepts more clearly in my brain. I thought the textbook was not written very well, very wordy without a lot of basic explanation. This study guide helped me quite a bit.

This book is really awful. I had to buy it for class, but I feel like I learned nothing from it. Kahn Academy taught me more advanced pathophysiology than this book. It almost makes concepts more difficult to learn. Rent it if you have to have it for class. You won't want to use it ever again.

I only opened this study guide a couple of times. I really thought I would use it to prepare for exams, but I never did. It would likely be helpful to some people, it just was not for me.

I bought both the course book and the practice book to work on a beginners course in English. It has very practical content, and is sequenced nicely to get the necessary basics in (eg- the alphabet) but, at the same time, not patronise students (the alphabet is given in the middle of "how to introduce yourself/spell your name")It CLAIMS to be a self-stufy book, but unfortunately, this concept doesn't work. Any beginner studying alone might need instructions in their first language from a BOOK (it's a different approach in the classroom). This book has somewhat complex instructions and lessons in English.I recommend it as a guide for teachers who have beginners, but not for the student themselves.

I have been trying to find a book to help my boyfriend (whose native language is Spanish) learn English for a long time, and I am so happy that I finally came across 'English for Everyone'.Pros:- It has a logical progression through content- It teaches you vocabulary on a certain topic, teaches you a grammar topic and then has exercises combining the vocabulary and the grammar- It includes reading, writing, speaking and listening- It has lots of pictures and is very visually attractiveCons:- The book claims to be 'a complete self-study program', but I don't feel that a beginner in English could fully understand the content without the help of someone that could explain this to them in their native language. It is perfect for beginners who have the support of a teacher, friend or family member.

I loved this book. I am a new ESL teacher and this has been a great guide for my classes, for I was clueless about what to teach or where to start. It has great, simple excercises, and very easily explained too. I also bought their Grammar book to make my teaching more complete.

I'm teaching a Mexican woman English and using this book. It has great pictures of vocabulary words, good teaching and practice exercises. It has attractive colors and presentation. Most importantly, my student likes the book. A great buy for anyone teaching or learning ESL.

Marie’s books are always great reads. I usually pre-order them so I’ll have them right away. I’ve never been disappointed. I got acquainted with her when reading the Cobblestone Court series and have never looked back. I always feel I can picture the characters and feel what they are feeling. She’s a wonderful writer, in my opinion.

Marie Bostwick has done it again. I could hardly put this book down after the opening paragraph. Another wonderful read.

Growing up in a small town in rural Washington State, Jeff Stookey enjoyed writing stories. He studied literature, history, and cinema at Occidental College, and then got a BFA in Theater from Fort Wright College. In his 40s he retrained in the medical field and worked for many years with pathologists, trauma surgeons, and emergency room reports. I really enjoy Jeff’s writing, his first person POV is tops, bar none. The reading is so smooth, you are transported to the time and place in the book without any effort on your part.Lovely scene-setting, accompanied by lively action and dynamic dialogue, will leave you wanting more at the end of the book and series.The finale of “Medicine for the Blues” series, “Dangerous Medicine” gets the top score of 5 stars!

What a huge accomplishment this is. Finished the trilogy this morning. Enjoyed the characters and the meticulously researched evocation of those times. Wish they were really in the past. The epilogue was very welcome and the author's notes showed the historian and journalist in the author. Excellent work. Thank you.

Robert Block's books are among the best references for marble collectors. The illustrations are profuse, and the color reproduction is excellent quality.

What I liked about this book was the many photos of the different marbles through the years, the main dislikes were some of the photos were faded and the pricing was not up to date with the times. Overall, I enjoyed matching several of the marbles from my collection to those found in the book.

The Block family are true marble gurus. They make learning all about the addicting glass balls easy.
